Ben Nevis

Founded in 1825 on the outskirts of Fort William by John MacDonald, better known as "Long John", Ben Nevis Distillery became one of the Highlands' most successful Victorian whisky producers. Originally sold as "Long John's Dew of Ben Nevis", its whisky developed a reputation far beyond the Highlands.

The distillery is notable for being one of the first in Scotland to operate both traditional pot stills and a Coffey still, enabling the production of both malt and grain whisky on the same site from 1955. Today, it is known for a robust Highland spirit.

Ben Nevis is exactly the kind of distillery Rare Find seeks out: full of weight, texture and unmistakable character, with a spirit that rewards the right cask and lets us bottle something genuinely distinctive.
