The release

This 10-year-old Campbeltown release is a distinguished and characterful malt sourced from a distillery located just north of Campbeltown's Kinloch Park. Full maturation in a refill hogshead has given the whisky time to develop while retaining the distillery's distinctive coastal spirit. The result moves from brioche, hay and stewed apple on the nose into dry smoke, liquorice and malt cake on the palate, with green apple and biscuit carrying through the finish.

Teaspooned Malts

For those who know

Teaspooned malts occupy a quietly fascinating sub-category of Scotch whisky. Originally created to protect the identity of distillery stock, the addition of a small amount of secondary malt allows producers to safeguard provenance while maintaining the integrity, quality and character of the original spirit.

The region

Campbeltown

Campbeltown is situated on the Kintyre Peninsula on Scotland's west coast and is one of the country's five recognised whisky producing regions. During the 19th century, Campbeltown developed into one of Scotland's most important whisky producing centres, with more than thirty distilleries operating in the town. Today, production continues at just three distilleries: Springbank, Glen Scotia and Glengyle.

Campbeltown’s whiskies are often noted for their oily texture, maritime influence and savoury complexity. Traditional production methods remain an important part of the region's whisky identity.

A hallmark combination of coastal character, oily texture and savoury complexity gives the region a distinctive identity. These characteristics often endure throughout maturation, creating whiskies that continue to showcase their origins even after many years in cask.
