Annandale Distillery was founded in 1836 by George Donald and is located within the Lowland whisky region, near Annan in Dumfries and Galloway. The distillery is notable today for its revival after a ninety-year period of silence and its focus on single cask single malt whisky.
The distillery was acquired by Professor David Thomson and Teresa Church in 2007. After being carefully restored and returned to working order, production resumed in 2014, marking the return of whisky making to the historic site.
Producing both peated and unpeated spirit, the distillery releases its whisky exclusively as single cask bottlings, allowing the character of each cask to be highlighted. With a spirit character capable of delivering balance at a relatively young age, Annandale rewards careful cask selection.
