This 6-year-old Annandale is a youthful Lowland single malt with an assertive smoky character. Matured in an oloroso sherry barrique seasoned for 12 months, it brings sweetness and spice to impactful peat smoke. Salinity, candied ginger and aniseed sit alongside ashy smoke, with citrus providing a brighter final note.

The distillery
Annandale
Annandale Distillery was founded in 1836 by George Donald and is located within the Lowland whisky region, near Annan in Dumfries and Galloway. The distillery is notable today for its revival after a ninety-year period of silence and its focus on single cask single malt whisky.
The distillery was acquired by Professor David Thomson and Teresa Church in 2007. After being carefully restored and returned to working order, production resumed in 2014, marking the return of whisky making to the historic site.
Producing both peated and unpeated spirit, the distillery releases its whisky exclusively as single cask bottlings, allowing the character of each cask to be highlighted. With a spirit character capable of delivering balance at a relatively young age, Annandalerewardscarefulcaskselection.
The Lowlands covers the southern part of mainland Scotland and is recognised as one of the five protected Scotch whisky regions. With a long history of both malt and grain whisky production, the area has experienced a revival in recent years, with new distilleries contributing to an increasingly varied whisky landscape.
Traditionally associated with a refined, lighter spirit style, Lowland whiskies are often characterised by floral aromas and fresh fruit notes. However, modern distilleries have embraced a broad range of approaches, with styles ranging from light and unpeated to richly peated.
This has enhanced the appeal of Lowland whisky for Rare Find. From delicate fruit-led spirits to richer, more heavily peated expressions, distilleries across the region offer flavour profiles that can be paired with different cask types and finishing techniques while retaining a clear sense of distillery character.
