Glen Elgin

Glen Elgin Distillery was founded in 1898 by William Simpson and James Carle near the hamlet of Fogwatt, south of Elgin in Speyside. Following its acquisition by Scottish Malt Distillers in 1930, the distillery became an important contributor to the White Horse blend.

Glen Elgin is renowned for its fruity and complex spirit character. Long fermentation and extended distillation help develop lush fruit notes, while traditional worm tub condensers contribute weight to the whisky.

Glen Elgin's hallmark fruitiness makes it particularly versatile in maturation. The spirit evolves gracefully in cask, developing additional layers of complexity while retaining a clear sense of distillery character.
