A focus on wine
The first releases of 2024 are all about the finish. The maturation for this Glen Ord was 8 months finishing in a specially selected in Châteauneuf-du-Pape cask.
Marking the first Glen Ord ever to be released by Rare Find, this exquisite Highland single malt has been given a sophisticated twist by the Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine imparted during maturation. Adding rich berry notes to the signature malt character.
Glen Ord spirits are well renowned for a grassy fresh-cut lawn scent - created by having clear wort, long fermentation, a high cut point and copper rich distillation. By keeping the water in the shell and tube condensers hot the ‘conversation’ between vapour and copper is extended. The actual condensing takes place in after-coolers. With a sweet toffee undertone, this spirit was perfect for the wine finish imparted by the casks.
A wonderful review from @maltwhiskypete who tried our spring releases said "The Glen Ord is just magnificent, that marriage of the waxy malty slightly apple new-make combined with the red fruitiness and sweetness of the red wine cask really hit the spot. Two of my colleagues tried it and I think you have sold 3 bottles already!"
