Aultmore sits away from Speyside’s busier routes, drawing its name from An t-Allt Mòr, the ‘big burn’ that refers to its water source, the Auchinderran Burn. This 14-year-old single malt was matured in a refill barrique, allowing the distillery’s character to remain clear while the oak has added shape and depth. Heather, honey and a bright sweetness lead the profile, supported by citrus and soft spice. It is a poised expression from a distillery whose spirit is often encountered in blends rather than as a single cask release.

The distillery
Aultmore
Built by Alexander Edward in 1896, the Aultmore distillery is situated near Keith in Scotland's Speyside whisky region. Aultmore remained relatively little known as a single malt compared with many of its Speyside contemporaries, with much of its production historically reserved for blends.
In 1971, Aultmore doubled its production capacity with the addition of two new stills, expanding the stillhouse from two stills to four as part of a major redevelopment of the distillery.
Known for its grassy and floral character, Aultmore delivers an elegant spirit with a depth that belies its delicate aromas. We believe Aultmore's single malts offer a great opportunity to experience a spirit that blenders recognised for its quality long before whisky drinkers had the chance to discover it for themselves.
The Speyside whisky producing region, centred on the River Spey, is home to the greatest concentration of whisky distilleries in the world. The region benefits from abundant water sources, a long-standing whisky making tradition and favourable conditions for maturation.
More than fifty distilleries operate throughout the region, producing a wide variety of single malt whiskies. While styles vary between distilleries, Speyside whiskies are often associated with approachable, fruit driven flavour profiles. The region also has a longstanding association with sherry cask maturation, which contributes to the diversity of styles found.
We seek Speyside whisky for its exceptional diversity. From delicate and floral spirits to richer, more robust styles, the region offers a broad spectrum of character that responds well to a variety of maturation approaches. Many of the region's richer spirits are particularly well suited to long term maturation, developing depth and complexity with age.
