Distilled at Cooley in 2002 and bottled in 2021, this 19-year-old Irish whiskey was finished in a Caribbean rum cask. The additional maturation brings a warmer, sweeter edge to the mature spirit while preserving the whiskey’s underlying character. Fruit, spice and cask richness come together in a release that has had time to develop without losing its energy. This is an uncommon single-cask example from Cooley and a Rare Find that extends the collection beyond Scotland while remaining true to our approach to cask selection.

The distillery
Cooley
Cooley distillery was founded in 1987 by John Teeling on the Cooley Peninsula in County Louth, Ireland. Established within a former industrial alcohol facility, it became the first new Irish whiskey distillery to enter production in over a century.
At a time when triple distilled whiskey was the prevailing style, Cooley championed alternative approaches, producing both double distilled single malt and peated Irish whiskey. Known for its characterful and often distinctive style, Cooley's whiskey combines fruit led sweetness with impressive weight and texture.
We appreciate Cooley for the range of spirit styles produced. Its fruit-led character can work particularly well with bourbon cask maturation, while sherry, Madeira, port and Caribbean rum cask finishes add layers of richness and complexity.
