The release

This 11-year-old Inchmurrin was matured in a 2nd fill sherry hogshead. Vanilla and caramel lead into pear, pastry and gentle spice, with the whisky’s texture providing as much interest as its sweetness. The refill wood brings integration rather than a heavy sherry overlay, keeping the profile balanced and approachable. Drawn from a single cask and limited to 163 bottles, it offers a measured view of Inchmurrin with warmth, softness and structure held in proportion.

Nose

The nose opens with soft vanilla and warm caramel, layered with subtle grassy notes and a whisper of white pepper.

Palate

Rich and mouthcoating, this malt wraps the palate in layers of caramel cups, pear drops, and delicate pastry cases, with gentle spice weaving through a velvety texture.

Finish

The finish gently lingers with soft notes of vanilla cupcake, while fading, well-integrated spice adds warmth and depth.

The distillery

Inchmurrin

Produced at Loch Lomond Distillery, Inchmurrin takes its name from the largest island in Loch Lomond. Inchmurrin is one of several single malt styles produced at Loch Lomond Distillery, founded in 1966 and known for its ability to create a variety of spirit styles.

The whisky forms part of the Loch Lomond Group’s range of single malts. Inchmurrin is produced using Loch Lomond Distillery's distinctive tall straight-neck stills, which contribute to the whisky's fruit forward character. The whisky is unpeated and noted for its fruity style, complemented by floral and grassy notes.

We seek out Inchmurrin for its vibrant orchard fruit character and its ability to mature gracefully over time. The spirit's distinctive flavours remain evident across a range of cask types, making it particularly attractive for independent bottling.

The region

Highlands

The Highlands are Scotland's largest whisky producing region, covering a vast geographical area of the mainland along with many of Scotland's whisky producing islands. Distilleries are found across diverse landscapes, creating one of the most geographically varied whisky producing areas in Scotland.

Highland whiskies are known for their wide range of styles and flavour profiles. Expressions can vary from light and floral to rich, malty and coastal, reflecting both the broad geography of the region and the distinctive production methods of individual distilleries.

This versatility makes Highland whisky rewarding for independent bottling. Their broad spectrum of spirit styles responds exceptionally well to a variety of cask types, giving opportunities to explore the interplay between distillery character and cask influence.
