THE HISTORY
We are Spirit of Alba, an independent whisky shop in Kirkintilloch, just outside Glasgow. We’re Craig & Jim - two sides of the same coin.
Jim’s a Doctor (of History & Theology, not the medical kind), has lectured across Europe, and started Spirit of Alba to showcase Scotland’s incredible whisky. Craig’s a designer who’s worked with distilleries and brands across the country. Between us, we do everything - events, tastings, private bookings, website builds, brand evolution... we even painted the shop ourselves!

The journey with Rare Find
You’re part of this too. Without brands like Rare Find, we wouldn’t have the stories to tell or the exceptional drams to wax lyrically about. We’re all about independent bottlers, with 80% of our stock coming from them. Rare Find is one we’ve been lucky to have a great relationship with - even having them pour at our annual festival just 200 yards from the shop!
Speaking of, shameless plug! Tickets to the 2025 Spirit of Alba festival are now available, and we're delighted to say the Rare Find team will be back showcasing great drams again with us.

I love the funky, the weird—that is why the Mortlach 10yo was an absolute belter. That chonky, first-fill wine cask one? Pure jammy deliciousness. Get me an IV of that.
